CEDAR Mentoring in Mosques

CEDAR launched its mentoring programme for young people on 7th November 2009 with a successful mentoring session at Tawhid Mosque in east London. In partnership with Young Enterprise London, the session brought together twenty-five young people of Muslim heritage, aged 14-16, with CEDAR mentors for an afternoon of inspiration and skills development. Through interactive skills based sessions, exchanges and work experience placements, the dedicated CEDAR mentoring programme for young people aims to nurture a culture of success and aspiration across Europe’s diverse communities, increase cross community and cross generational dialogue.

“My confidence is much better now; my teamwork is much better; my listening skills and talking skills are much better.” Bassim el-Sheikh, 13-year-old CEDAR mentee.
