CEDAR collaborates with the Kiran Project and holds its first UK Inspiration Day for young people
On 29th January 2011 CEDAR was delighted to hold its first Inspiration Day in partnership with the Kiran Project in East London, UK. Thirty young women aged between 10-18 attended from the Al Risalah madrasah group, Leyton.

Become a CEDAR Mentor!

CEDAR Mentoring for young people aims to equip young Europeans to achieve success through exchange, professional development, and entrepreneurship training by introducing them to inspiring role models with whom they share cultural or faith background. CEDAR Mentors work with young people to raise their aspirations and enhance future life prospects by providing professional development opportunities and through sharing their own professional- and life experiences.
CEDAR Summer Mentoring Sessions, UK
CEDAR is continuing to expand its innovative Mentoring Programme with summer mentoring sessions taking place in Leeds and London this July. In the UK the CEDAR Mentoring Programme works in partnership with the enterprise education charity Young Enterprise to provide personal and professional development opportunities to young Muslims in mosques and madrassahs across the country. This summer will see the first pilot of CEDAR's new Presentations and Interviews Masterclass at the Hendon Mosque and Islamic Centre, London.

CEDAR Professional Development Seminar, Duisburg
To mark the introduction of the CEDAR Mentoring Programme to Germany, CEDAR hosted an evening of exchange, inspiration and networking on Saturday 19 June in the beautiful surroundings of the Duisburg Merkez Moschee. The event gathered professionals and young people around a series of professional development talks, drawing on the experiences and expertise of CEDAR members an impressive lineup of speakers.

London - Studies show that poor educational attainment and professional underachievement are prevalent amongst young British Muslims. The Joseph Rowntree Foundation, an independent development and social research charity, found that British Muslims are less upwardly mobile than their Hindu, Christian and Jewish counterparts.
CEDAR Inspiration Day in Brussels
Building on the successes of an ‘Inspiration Day’ organised by CEDAR members in Belgium in May 2009, a second ‘Inspiration Day’ took place in Brussels on 9 May 2010 in partnership with Association Belge des professionnels Musulmans (ABPM). CEDAR Inspiration Days bring together business representatives, CEDAR mentors and young people aged 15 to 18 around themed information stalls for one-to-one exchange, advice and inspiration.
