The CEDAR Media Working Group met on 30 and 31 January 2010 in Hamburg to plan ways to take forward some of the concrete recommendations which emerged from the M100 2009 Diversity Workshop discussions. The group proposed the development of a multilingual web platform and email news digest aimed at nurturing more varied news coverage of Muslims in Europe. Intended to also encourage more accurate journalism, the website and weekly digest would include senior commentators’ short authoritative responses to the coverage of Muslims in news items of their choice. Further development of this initiative is ongoing.
